Spotify Olivia Rodrigo x FCB

The Dream Begins is a short film created for Spotify’s collaboration with FC Barcelona and pop artist Olivia Rodrigo. Directed by Léa Esmaili, it follows the dream of a young fan who falls asleep surrounded by posters of her idol, imagining what it might be like to follow in her footsteps. The film celebrates the connection between music, football and fandom, exploring how the people we admire can inspire our own ambitions.

Produced by Blinkink in collaboration with Spotify’s in-house creative team, the film blends live-action cinematography with illustrated poster worlds, rotoscoping and anime- and comic-book-inspired animation. Post-production by Mathematic Studio combines 2D animation, motion graphics, visual effects and compositing to seamlessly transition between reality and the protagonist’s imagination. Filmed in Barcelona, the mixed-media approach gives the campaign a vibrant, dreamlike visual identity.
